Melanie Williams
Melanie Williams has been practicing VA disability law before the Department of Veterans Affairs for ten years. She represents veterans and their dependents in their claims for VA disability compensation, focusing on the appeals process at both the Regional Office and Board of Veterans Appeals. Melanie has handled appeals for hundreds of veterans, including those who served in Vietnam, the Gulf War, Camp Lejeune, and were exposed to herbicides, burn pits, and other toxins. She has successfully won cases for service connection, higher evaluations and permanent and total status, special monthly compensation, and earlier effective dates. She is especially passionate about advocating for survivors of Military Sexual Trauma.
Melanie is a member of the National Organization of Veterans' Advocates where she has presented at their national conference on the best practices for selecting an appeal lane within the modern appeals system.
Melanie graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida with her Bachelor of Arts degree. She majored in English, minored in French, and is fluent in Spanish. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was awarded three Book Awards and was published in the Florida Journal of International Law. Melanie has always had a passion for championing the causes of others and is honored to represent our nation's veterans.
